COLLEGE PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Established in 1927 as a training college, the Seventh-day Adventist Inter College is in its 92 years of service to the people of North India and is one of the premier institutions of the large global family of Adventist educational establishments.
The aim of the college throughout its existence has been to provide affordable quality education and promote moral integrity in all, without prejudice. In 2001, the Adventist Accrediting Association permitted the upgrading of the college into an establishment of higher learning and the Roorkee Adventist College was born.
The Seventh-day Adventist philosophy of education promotes the development of the Physical, Intellectual, Spiritual and Social aspects of an individual and it has always been the endeavor of the College to promote this facet of education. Mere amassing of knowledge is not true education. A successful person needs more than knowledge to compete in today’s world and it is my belief and desire that students who pass through the halls of this college must learn more about themselves, their relationship with God, their relationship to society, the ability and desire to bear themselves with dignity, the value of integrity and acquire the best knowledge of the subjects they have chosen. Mrs. Ellen G. White, the pioneer of the Seventh-day Adventist movement identifies the most important requirement of society today as: “The greatest want of the world is the need of men(and women)men who will not be bought or sold, men who in their inmost souls are true and honest, men who do not fear to call wrongdoing by its correct name, men whose conscience is as true to duty, as will stand firm as a needle to the pole” (Education, pp. 57, paraphrased).
To prepare its students to achieve these objectives, the college includes leadership training, lifestyle management skills, physical and spiritual education, aesthetic appreciation and character-building activities in the regular curriculum. The college offers the Indian Certificate of Secondary education (year 10) and the Indian School Certificate Examinations (year 12) conducted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi. It also offers degree programs in Commerce, Science, Business Management and Computer Applications affiliated to the Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University, Srinagar, Uttarakhand. Keeping in mind the best traditions of Adventist Education and providing the services of a dedicated, qualified and experienced faculty, with its infrastructure set in aesthetically pleasing surrounding, Seventh-day Adventist Inter College will make a difference in your life and career.
