Aims and Objectives : The institution strives to cultivate in every
student habits of disciplined living, virtuous grooming and
aesthetic enhancement to promote self-esteem and make them
useful citizens of this country.

The program of the Roorkee SDA Inter college is based upon the
following philosophical position.
“True education means more than the pursual of certain courses of
study. It means more than a preparation for the life that now is. It
has to do with the whole being, with the whole period of existence
possible to man. It is the harmonious development of the physical,
the intellectual and the spiritual powers. It prepares the student for
the joy of wider service in the world to come.”

In harmony with this philosophy of education, SDA Inter College, Roorkee defines its objectives
as follows:
Spiritual: To emphasize the role of personal and ethical values of fear in God in the lives of its
students. To present a virtuous philosophy of life as the basis for solution of both personal and
social problems. To inculcate a sense of personal responsibility to participate in the program of
the community and to train students to be superior citizens. To promote Godliness and
Godlikeness.
Intellectual: To develop in its students an analytical mind, the ability to be independent and
creative in thinking and to cultivate in them an understanding of the basic facts and principles of
the major fields of knowledge. To develop an attitude of open-minded consideration to
controversial questions and to develop intellectual curiosity.
Social: To develop in its students awareness, understanding and a consistent practice of
approved social graces. To encourage participation in recreational activities which contribute to
the development of acceptable social skills and a balanced personality.
Physical : To establish a consistent observance of habits and practices which foster maximum
physical vitality and health. To emphasize intelligent use of recreational and leisure time. To
foster co-operation with others in the improvement of the physical well being of the society. To
inculcate an appreciation for the dignity of labour and its relevant values of efficiency,
promptness, faithfulness, personal initiative, resourcefulness and responsibility by providing
opportunity for useful work each day. To develop in its students a sense of financial
responsibility.

Patriotic / Civic : To develop in its students a sincere love
for their country and a willingness to co-operate in
bringing about improvement in the social order to
develop citizens who are useful, productive and
contributive to their community and a self-reliant
country.
